The Talking Jobs learning materials have been mapped to the ACEG Framework for careers and work-related learning. This framework is a key driver for schools and colleges working towards Investor in Careers and other quality awards. Talking Jobs was the first resource of its kind associate video case study around peoples Labour Market Experience (LME) with learning outcomes from national frameworks for careers education.

History of the Talking Jobs learning materials


2008 The Lesson Plans (documents LP1-LP9):

The first series of Talking Jobs learning materials were written for classroom / ICT suite delivery at KS 3 and 4 to meet the careers education component of the PSHE curriculum. This series was written in collaboration with Jon Wilson, then Head of PSHE at Longhill School, Kate Dorian of Vardean School and Christa Lindner, then head of Information at Sussex Careers.

2010 The Activities (documents A1-A7):

Subject to feedback from teachers and careers people these lesson plans were subsequently reworked as shorter independent sessions with a self-evaluation component added at the close.

2012 Bite Size CEIAG (documents BA1- BA7):

On development of the Turning Points Module for East Sussex pupil referral units the cross over with functional skills was added and the re published the Bite Size CEIAG Activities

2014 Bite Size CEIAG (documents BA10-BA13):

The recent collaboration the Gloucestershire Youth Support Team led to four more Bite Size Activities being written for use with young offenders, care leavers, looked after young people, NEET and at risk of NEET.
